Usually the camera sensor can receive the most wavelengths, including infrared light.The sensor can be interferenced by the infrared light.infrared light will be turned into a signal and will produce noise. the noise will be transmitted to the back-end monitor,making the image color distortion,it is not the same with the reality of the environment,the monitor may be green to blue, will to change the background color of the image.In order to solve the problem of color distortion, usually stick to a low pass filter on CCD or CMOS, the filter has hindered the infrared , so the color distortion will not happpen during the day , but at night, the camra will not have night vision function.In order to solve the problem , the day and night camera will use a infrared light, when opening the light, letting the infrared light go in,so it is a solution for the night vision function.But it is also have a problem about partial color.so the ir cut for the m12 board lens appear.
IR-CUT, there are two different ir cut filters: low-pass filter and high pass filter, by switching to filter, in the daytime only allow 650NM or 780NM below the wavelength of the light, prevent the interference of stray light, so the distortion of the image color will not appear.At night, letting more than 760NM of infrared to enter, so that the camera has a night vision function, so the camera installed IR-CUT, whether in the day or at night, it can have the best image effect.
